Obituary of Jesus Flores

Jesus Flores, age 78 of Las Vegas, NV passed away on January 16, 2021. He was born October 27, 1942 in Mexico City, MX. He was a pioneer of Las Vegas who had been residing here since the mid 1960s. He was a devout Roman Catholic and an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church for over 40 years. He was a Maître' D at the Las Vegas Hilton for 20 years and then transitioned into Real Estate. He was an active Realtor with United Realty Group, he helped hundreds of families achieve their homeownership dreams. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of almost 58 years Sara Flores, His mother Socorro Luna, His Father Jesus Flores Sr and his brothers Pablo and Beto. He is survived by his children, Dolores Del Rio, David Flores, Jesus Flores Jr. and Pablo Flores as well as his 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was Loving, Caring and Kind. Had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family was always important and a priority. He was educated and full of life. He loved telling his stories and giving advice. He could hold a conversation for hours and simply loved to talk to anyone, anywhere. He was one of a kind. If there is one thing, he enjoyed clothes shopping, especially at Dillards and always with his wife. No joke, majority of our family are frequent flyers there especially on those famous sale days. However, in recent years he simply could not keep up with his wife and her many hours of shopping. He would seek his spot on a chair in the men’s shoe department where you would find him snoring away, or making phone calls checking up on all of his kids and grandchildren; or what we are all missing now, the most random, annoying, incoherent, jumbled texts which would almost always end with “ I love you, from Abuelo Patas Flacas.” He simply loved his family to no end. He was one of the most dapper fellas around and always matched head to toe. He was not afraid of bright neon colors that is for sure; if he was wearing bright orange you better believe he had even brighter orange shoes to match. His favorite farewell as we were leaving was a hug, kiss and a “See you in September”. He loved his “flaca” and if he did not say her name 10 times in 10 minutes there was something wrong. Today, we are in disbelief that we lost them both eight days apart. To say that we are heartbroken is an understatement. However, he always said there was no him, without her. He made it very clear to us that he never wanted her to pass before him. He simply knew he could not do life without her. He knew Grammy would be waiting for him at the top of the stairway to heaven. We will forever be thankful for our memories, along with the knowledge he instilled in us, his thoughtfulness, and most importantly the love and importance of family. It is not a good-bye, it is until we meet again. Rest in paradise. “See you in September”. On Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church located at 5485 E. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, Nevada 89142; we will have a mass in their honor at 11:00 A.M. The burial service will be immediately after at their final resting place Palm Mortuary located at 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
