Obituary of Geneva Leigh Atkinson

Geneva “Jenny” Leigh Atkinson 06/19/51 - 03/03/21 Geneva (Jenny) Leigh Atkinson, 69 of Pahrump, NV passed away peacefully on March 3, 2021 at Centennial Hills Hospital in Las Vegas, NV, surrounded by her loving children after a brave battle with Covid Pneumonia. Jenny was born on June 19, 1951 to the late Bob and Mildred Grant. She was the youngest of their children. Jenny enjoyed riding horses, singing, and playing guitar. She attended Mesquite High School. Jenny had a career in accounting working for various companies. She later retired from Time Warner in 2004. In 2005 Jenny relocated to Pahrump, NV where she spent her days enjoying her loved ones. Jenny was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend first and foremost. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She treasured them all and embraced every moment with them. The legacy of Jenny’s kindhearted spirit, forgiving nature, passion for helping others and unconditional love for her family will live on through all of them. Jenny opened her heart and her arms to everyone. She was always a shoulder to lean on and an ear that listened. Her wise words and ability to see the best in everyone will be forever missed. Jenny is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Bob and Ann Grant of Balch Springs, TX, her four children, Danna Adams of Pahrump, NV, Kristy Castellanos of Mesquite, TX, Karen Cavazos of Pahrump, NV, and Christopher Cavazos of Dallas, TX, her nine grandchildren Brett Link, Donnie and Cole Miller of Pahrump, NV, Kelly Garcia of Dallas, TX, Belicia and Faith Castellanos of Mesquite, TX and Desirre, Lupe and Destinee Soliz of Lewisville, TX, and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends. Jenny was preceded in death by her parents Bob Grant and Mildred Grant (Simmons), her sister Jackie Post and her granddaughter Victoria Brooke Jensen. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 26, 2021 at New Community Church 2600 Eastglen Blvd. Mesquite, TX 75181. We will be spreading her ashes at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas TX, 75243 on March 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM. On April 2, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 Vicki Ann Rd, Pahrump NV. 89048 Jenny’s ashes will be spread at the grave of her granddaughter, Victoria Brooke Jensen who preceded her in death in 2003. A celebration of life will follow at 6:00 PM at 960 Daytona St. Pahrump, NV 89048.
