Obituary of Kathleen May Ward

Kathleen May Ward passed away quietly at home on June 16, 2021 in the presence of her husband and family and the Lord, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. She was 65 years old. There is no funeral service to announce. A private Memorial is TBD Kathleen was born and raised in Southern California. Throughout Kathleen’s life, from early childhood to her last day, she loved, owned and rescued animals of every kind. She was educated in the Los Angeles public school system, where in high school she met her husband Frederick Ward. After they married and started their family, Kathleen worked a few jobs, including a career with Kmart security. They moved to Southern Nevada where Kathleen enjoyed a 25 year career with Wal Mart. She also organized and led large bowling leagues for over 20 years, managing hundreds of bowlers at a time. A dedicated Mother and Grandmother, Kathleen treasured her time spent with her children first and foremost. She taught them well and loved them more. She had a vivacious personality and made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went from co-workers to customers, fellow bowlers, as well as the medical personnel and patients at the cancer center. Kathleen was a beautiful, generous, kind, understanding and strong woman. She could also be brutally honest. Kathleen always told you the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. You also always knew where you stood with her. Kathleen, beloved sister, wife, mother and grandmother, is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Frederick Ward, sisters Ellen Manning and Pamela Tognetti, son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Zeniah Ward, grandchildren Zane, Leilani, Kira, Charles and Joseph Jr. Ward, and James, Vincent and Frankie Pizzurro. Kathleen’s bravery and fortitude in her battle with cancer will remain an inspiration to us all. Her humor, wisdom and love of life will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace in the arms of Jesus.
