Obituary of Robert James Scott

Robert James Scott, age 90, a 25 year resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, and former resident of Mt. Clemens, Michigan, passed away on October 31, 2021, in Infinity Hospice, Las Vegas, Nevada, after a long illness. He was born in Detroit on April 21, 1931. He was raised in Canada and moved to Alaska when he was 18. He returned to Michigan in 1963 where he lived until moving to Las Vegas in 1996. He worked several years for Mount Clemens Community Schools before retiring. While in Michigan, he acquired a fondness for carving and made many hand-carved ventriloquist figures. One of his ventriloquist figures was in the Annie show on Broadway and in the Annie road show which played Detroit and other major cities. He also acquired a fondness for carving animals and carved many ducks, bears, and other wildlife. His favorite pastime was deer hunting. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his sister. He is predeceased by his mother, stepfather, and two brothers. He will be cremated and 'A Celebration of the Eucharist' will be offered for his soul on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the 6:45 a.m. mass at St. Viator Catholic Church.
