Obituary of Marion Carnell Truitt

Marion C. Truitt, age 84, passed away on November 16, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV. Born in Memphis, TN on September 26, 1936 to the late Marion Snellinger and the late Earl R. Ward, Marion lived in Bel Air, MD for most of her life up until three years ago when she moved to Las Vegas, NV to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She was married to Paul C. Truitt for for 54 years. Marion worked for C&P Telephone which later became Verizon. She retired from Verizon in 1991 at which time she became a HCPS school bus driver, a job which she loved doing for almost 20 years. Marion is survived by her children - Dawn Higinbothom (Joe), Paul “Toby” Truitt (Jeannie), Denise Ajello, and James “Roger” Truitt. She is also survived by her grandchildren who she loved dearly - Kathryn “Katy” Higinbothom, Kirsten King (Benjamin), Taryn Sinay, Courtney Ajello, Thomas “T.J.” Ajello, Jamie Morrison (Bryant), Jesse Truitt, and Amanda Truitt. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul Truitt and her brothers Earl Ward and Raymond Ward. Dogs brought great joy to Marion throughout her life and while she lived in Las Vegas, she was especially loved by Rex, Sketch (aka “Stretch”), and Lola.
