Obituary of Joseph E Beste

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our brother Joe Beste on February 11, 2021 at age 75. Joe was born and raised in Santa Monica, California and was the son of Robert and Janet Beste. He graduated from St. Monica High School in Santa Monica in 1963 and attended California State University at Long beach where he earned a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1968. After working as an engineer for both Standard oil and Dole Pineapple, in Hawaii, Joe shifted gears and earned his Real estate Brokers license. Subsequently founding the Honolulu Investment Company focusing on commercial development and property management. Real estate was Joe’s greatest vocation and he made it his life’s work. He nurtured many lasting friendships in the Industry and was known for his warmth and Charisma. Joe was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golf, tennis, skiing and college football. He was married twice. Catherine Gemmiti in 1981 and Margaret Smith in 1989. A special thank you to Keith & Yolanda Ogata & family, of Las Vegas, for assisting Joe over the last 5 years. Joe is survived by his brother Robert and sisters Marjory Thompson and Margaret Beste. Ashes to be scattered in Hawaii the date yet to be determined due to the Pandemic.
