Pearl Strauss

Obituary of Pearl Strauss

The Lady with the million-dollar smile and the personality to match went to be with the Lord on May 20th, 2021. Pearl was born September 9, 1946 in Manhattan, NY to Philip and Esther Roffenbender. Pearl spent her early years developing a love for people and animals while working in the Geriatric Recreation Field. When Pearl moved to Las Vegas in 1980, she was a strong believer in the Lord, and with several other believers, established the first Messianic Jewish congregation in southern NV. Pearl graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Nursing. After receiving her accreditation as a Registered Nurse, she began work in the Lyons Burn Care Unit at University Medical Center (UMC), Las Vegas. Pearl worked in nursing until her retirement due to injuries she received in the nursing profession. Pearl is survived by her husband Howard, daughters Evette Cullen, and Prentiss Strauss, son-in-law Brian Cullen, cousin Randy Lessner, and her extended family Madison, Bella, Zion, Aurora, and Einstein. A celebration of life will be held in the near future to honor Pearl. The Strauss, Cullen, and Lessner families wish to thank everyone for their thoughts, well wishes, and prayers during Pearl's illness.
